Kanban Thursday

I'm late again with my Kanban Thursday post but I have a valid excuse, I've got this dreaded flu bug which is hitting a lot of people at the mo and I feel awful. It never entered my head yesterday to post my cards then I had a couple come at seven o'clock to pick up a Christmas card order and I was in bed at 10 o'clock last night. That is not me at all, I'm usually up till after midnight! Anyway, I digress.....onto my cards!

Soggy Saturday......

also known as Sugar Button!!! These are just so cute Kathryn and perfect for little girls's cards. When I bought the kit I also bought the paper pad and rubber stamps. I'm so pleased I did though because I haven't even dared to dip into the kit properly, I keep trying to use it but I just put the lid down on the box. Will this feeling ever go away? lol

Both cards are made using the stamps and papers from Sugar Button as I said before (I keep wanting to call them Sugar Dumpling!! lol), the netted flower on the top card is made from ivory Spiders Web from Kanban and the ribbon on the bottom card is from Kanban too, everything else is from my stash. Oh and I added lots of Glamour Dust to the fairy on the bottom card, on her stars as well as her wings :).

I will be adding my card to a Card a Day Blogging and the following challenges, Allsorts Challenge which is Bring on the Bling, the Daring Cardmakers and their challenge is Twinkle Twinkle - to have at least one star on your card, Papertake Weekly who want to see Ribbons & Pearls, either of both - well I've got pearls on the top card and ribbon on the bottom one :).

Thank you for all of your wonderful comments, they are really appreciated.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend. x

Funky Friday

Good morning from a lovely sunny Scruff's Corner this morning. The orders are going well but I haven't even started on my own cards yet (I have got a couple of prezzies though ;))

I made my box last week for my friend's daughter's birthday. I really enjoy making these!

Materials used are as follows:-
Papers (All available on cd from Funky Hand
Just Happy - Dreams Come True
New Job Bliss - Wishes and Kisses
Hey There Baby - Wishes and Kisses
Purple glitter card
Small doily
Coordinating brads

I was lucky enough to receive one of these a few years ago but unfortunately it got broken when I was moving from the shop. Mine was full of chocolates that my friend had bought on a trip to Brugge and they were yummy :) Sorry I didn't put Belgian chocs in yours Amy...but I did put in some Quality Street (other chocs are available ;)), a pair of baby socks as she is expecting the patter of tiny feet next year and a bookmark with a 30 charm on the end, and yes, it was her 30th birthday.

Back soon, thanks for calling and leaving your comments, they are much appreciated.

Kanban Thursday

Good morning world, it's an awful long time since I was last here, well, 8 days to be precise. I added these cards and materials on Monday evening so I could just add a bit of dialogue before they went live.......and promptly forgot about them. Apologies if you received this post as it was lol. I have had a pig of a week (and some very nice bits :))but I think I'm coming out of the other side, my load seems to be lightening :).

I have made loads since I was here last but have just been photographing them and sticking them in my 'Edit' folder. I am going to make some computer time today to start sorting them out so there might be loads of posts over the next few days. I haven't joined in with the 'challenge' on FB a Card a Day Blogging, the Facebook page  I also need to update my side bar with my design team members as some have left all of the DTs I'm on.

It was my wedding anniversary on Tuesday and we went out for a lovely meal on Tuesday evening to a TexMex restaurant in town where we used to go an awful lot when we first got together. I think the fact that hubby lived across the road at the time and it was often easier than cooking lol. Anyway when we finished the meal we were just getting ready to leave when he presented me with a white envelope and in it were.........tickets to see Gary Barlow in Sheffield next Wednesday (I think). I am so looking forward to it. Congratulation on picking up your gong yesterday Gazza :)

So onto my cards....these are my DT cards this week and I'm actually pleased with all three for a change. I still love working with Kanban  materials, the quality is wonderful.

Ok, coffee is nearly finished so I need to go and clean upstairs quickly but I will be back later as I said earlier.

Take care and have a good day whatever you may be up to :)

WOYWW

This is serious!

You have been warned.......this post is so serious that it has it's own sub-heading!!

I joined the new bloggy/Facebook challenge - a Card a Day blogging (with a difference - the difference being that it's not really a challenge more of a foot up the back side of like minded shirking bloggers :) It's really to encourage us to restart our daily creating and blogging and more importantly visiting the lovely people who leave us comments.)

I've got the creating off to a tee as you will see shortly, my problem is that I have trouble finding the time to blog what I've made therefore I don't leave my link. I need to get back into it properly and take 10 minutes after I have made my project to add it to the blog and to comment on those above me.....that's the theory anyway.

So now onto my workdesk (the really serious bit. If you are of a nervous disposition please look away now.

Yes folks, it's that time again, I'm making Christmas cards and how I find anything in this mess is beyond me but I actually know where everything is lol I really need to tidy up quickly though as I'm at the opticians this afternoon and have a lady coming to see me this evening about coming to make her Christmas cards, if I leave it like this she might just run a mile :)

Right, you've had a nosey at my room so now you need to call over to the blog of Mrs Dunnit and add your own.

Thanks for looking, back soon. xx

Funky Friday

Good morning and welcome to another Funky Friday. There has been plenty going on this week in Scruff's Corner, lots of cards made and blogger and Facebook problems. Oh and we have been kicked up the butt and have finally started the web site revamp so as you see, it's busy, busy,  busy! However, it does mean that I have actually caught up with the other girls on
a Card a Day Blogging

I have last week's Funky Friday to show as well as the card I made for this week (which was actually made on Tuesday just in case time wasn't my friend again :)) Instead of making a card, I made some tags and I'm going to parcel them up in bags of 6 I think for the craft fayres. The backs of the tags are blank.

And this week I succumbed and made a card :)
All of the papers and images (the gorgeous robot is from the Craft The Year Away cd) are from my Funky Hand scrap folder. The buttons are from my vast collection :)

Please don't forget to have a look at the Get Funky! challenge for this month. It runs until the 14th November and there is a prize of a download of your choice but you have to use a Funky Hand product to be in with a chance. If you don't own anything from Funky Hand then don't worry, every month Anice creates a freebie paper for you to use.

As I've used a load of snippets all week (go me!!) I'm going to scare the living daylights out of Di and sneak into the Snippet Challenge playground again :) xx

Thanks for looking :).

Tuesdays cards :)

Again using that left over paper and a couple of Beatrix Potter toppers which have been on my desk for weeks. I've kept picking them up then putting them back down again because, quite frankly I didn't have a clue what to do with them!!! I'm not sure where they came from either. My mum has packed in making cards again so has brought all her stuff over here and they may have been in one of her boxes. Anyway, I digress, it's just another card for my box and you'll be pleased to hear, I only have a couple of small pieces of the paper left so I shall use it up by the end of the week. If I get all my scraps out like I have with the Funky Hand paper then I might just have used it all up by about 2035 lol.

My card

I love the green paper with the yellow stripes and think it tones really well with the other colours on the card. It wasn't supposed to have stripes on, for some strange reason my printer missed the green ink every so often but I think it's really good. I can remember now printing it off to do some DT work but not using it because of the faulty print. It just goes to reiterate why we crafters never throw anything away :))

I have nearly caught up with myself so I will say goodnight now and make sure I have tomorrows post ready.

Monday's card

I'm playing catch up as usual, one of these days I'm going to meet myself coming back lol! If anyone has any time management tips to pass on then I will gladly listen :) At the moment I'm making cards all day as I had none at all in stock as I gave them all to a shop in town. I not only need to fill my basket again, I need to make Christmas cards to send to the town shop and then I have Christmas stuff to make for a couple of upcoming Christmas Fayres. I work usually from about 8 am till 5 ish when I break off to make tea and watch a bit of TV with hubby, then I come back in here and carry on until about 1 am. I don't have time any more to use my lap top while I'm watching TV as I knit for the Kids Company so I use my TV time for that now. Oh and in between all that I do a bit of h*******k :) Suggestions please!

So, cards

The papers were on my desk after making my Funky Friday card for this week so instead of putting them away I decided I would make some cards to use it up. The papers for the FF card were out of my snippet box to start with and I still managed to put some back in. Oh and I used them a bit more on Tuesday's card. They are definitely breeding lol
The images are by Jak Heath (I think) bought from Imag-e-nation.

Thanks for dropping by :)

What's on your Workdesk Wednesday #179?

What's on your workdesk Wednesday  is the perfect place to spend a couple of hours to see what crafters around the world are up to! It's organised by the wonderful Julia from The Stamping Ground blog for all nosey people to join in with :)

So onto my desk.......a few people have mentioned the view from my desk so I'm going to show that instead of my desk today. It isn't as brilliant as some people think, it's only my front garden which is in desperate need of a make over lol. Also I was sat watching a robin scaring a blackbird out of 'his' wild rose bush the other day, you can see him right in the middle of the first picture.

My desk is positioned right in front of the window for maximum light and you can just see my lap top in the bottom of the photo. So there you are, not quite as lovely as it appears.

See you later. xx

A Card a Day Blogging

I am so sorry to Kathy and everyone else who has signed up for a Card a Day Blogging over on Facebook. As everything, I started out with good intentions and it all went down hill from there!! I've made the cards every day, in fact, since I finished the stationery on Thursday I have made 22 cards of which 10 are going to the NEC on Thursday to help showcase the new Kanban Baby, Crafted by You.

I'm going to schedule posts for the rest of the week and then if I make any more cards this week I can edit the posts and add the piccies. Why didn't I think of doing this months ago? I shall add my last week's Funky Friday card to this weeks post.

So let's make a start :)

This card was made for the daughter of a very special friend who is having a baby next year, I'm really pleased for them all.

The image is by Pink Petticoat and all the papers are from my scrap box. Do you know, I'm sure someone is coming in during the night and filling my scrap folders up. The only new sheets I've used for a long time are Funky Hand and Kanban and yet the contents aren't reducing at all. My mum and I sat and made a load of cards a few weeks ago for the troops abroad (I think we made about 150 in total and all the papers came from my scraps too and still they didn't go down).

I also sent another wedding stationery sample out
I've just had an email this evening from the bride and both her and her fiance love them.

Post number one.....check :)
