Baby baby

I got an email this morning to say that my blog has been included in an aticle entitled "101 Lovely Craft Blogs" over on the DotComGiftShop. I hadn't heard of them before so went to have a look and there are a few other names I recognise. Anyway, thanks for this Thomas, it made my day!! :)

I love making baby cards as much as I love my weddings and having found this gorgeous image at Karen's Doodles I may have to make a few spare:)

The image was coloured with Promarkers as usual, flowers are E line by Prima and everything else is from my stash. The ribbon is actually printed with a baby image and it says Its a Boy but it's difficult to see on the pictures!

Right, back to the album, I shall be at it very late this evening as I need to get the album finished and photographed before it goes tomorrow.

Take care :)

Card sketches

Challenge time again over on the ICS blog and we have another one of Dawn's great sketches.

I'm afraid I don't know where the image came from, but if you do then please let me know so I can credit the artist properly. I coloured the iomage with my trusty Promarkers and added gems to the centre of the flowers. Papers are from Stampin Up and my scrap box and the sentiment is a Crate Paper rub on. I really need to source more of these as I love them and my previous supplier has stopped selling them :(

I am working on a commissioned album at the moment and thought I would also use this week's sketch for one of the pages too. It's not something I've done before but am pleased with the page!

Papers are from Making Cards magazine (they seem to be lasting for ever as I used them on quite a few Father's Day cards too) and Pink Petticoat, the flowers are eline from Prima and the ribbon is from my stash.

Anyway, thanks for looking and I hope you take the time to join in with us this week :)

Papertake Weekly

Now we have a new baby in the family I thought I would make a couple of cards for the pround grandparents and the very proud great grandmother. I used my Promarkers to colour the picture so I decided to follow the
Papertake Weekly challenge

So onto our challenge for this week and it’s one we’ve had before but it’s one we all enjoy I think cos it is
In Stitches
So we just want to see some stitching somewhere on your card – that’s it!! It can be real or fake / faux / doodles. Tis up to you :)
This one is for DH's mum.

The image is by Chris Dark and is available from the Sketching Stamper My image was coloured with Promarkers and my stitching was done with a fine tipped Berol pen. the ribbon is from Ribbon Oasis, flowers are Prima, Card Candy is from Craftwork Cards, charm from stash.

Tfl :)

Secret Crafter

"This week's challenge has been set by the lovely Victoria and she has chosen her challenge with Wimbledon  in mind. She has chosen a theme of:-
Now this can be actual strawberries or just a colour combo for inspiration - it's up to you."

I chose to go with the fruit instead of just the colour....far tastier :)
I can't find where the image is from. On my old lap top I had all my digi images in folders under the name of the artist. When I started reloading all my data onto this machine, half of the names seem to have disappeared for some strange reason, so if it is your image, I am truly sorry. The image was coloured with Promarkers, the large piece of pink paper is from Stampin Up and everything else is from my stash.

Thanks for looking x

Sketch #71

It's challenge day on the Inpirational Card Sketch blog and Dawn has delivered yet another great sketch for us to play with.

Gingham paper is a download from the Activity Village, baby wording is letter stickers from a scrapbook kit I bought a while ago (I stick them to acetate before cutting out then they can be mounted onto 3d foam tape as it stiffens them), sentiment is using Doodlebug rub ons and the tiny shaped buttons are from my stash.

Don't forget to take a look at the fab cards my team mates have made then you please join us and leave a message so we can come visit. :)

Rosie's reveal

We are still with Mervi's super challenge at Rosie D's and you have until next Sunday to show us your projects. I'm DT Mervi from Finland and I'm hosting the challenge for this Month, June. Hope you all can join us, as I have set some very summery challenges! This fortnight I would like to see something blue and options are fish or fishing. There is also a lovely prize up for grabs offered by Mervi herself.

My card
The image is one of Sally-Ann's from The Digistamp Boutique, (Jim fishing) and it was coloured with Promarkers, I think the papers were from Lakeland a few years ago but I'm not 100% sure and they no longer sell craft stuff so I can't check! The sentiment is another freebie from The Creative Cottage and the card candy is from Craftwork Cards

Don't forget to leave us your link so we can come and take a peep at your work.

Delightful Sketches

The next card is made (obvious from the title really :)) using the Delightful Sketches challenge sketch this week.

I absolutely love these images, again from Karen's Doodles coloured with Promarkers, not sure what the paper is-it's a downloaded one which I rescued from my old hard drive) ribbon is Doodlebug, Card Candy is from Craftwork Cards and the sentiment again is from The Creative Cottage

:)

Friday Sketchers!

Late again for the challenge from last week so I did the new challenge posted today and chose to upload both week's cards at the same time :)

Image from Creative Cottage, free papers from Making Cards mag, Card Candy from Craftwork cards, ribbon from stash.
Another fabby image from Karen's Doodles coloured with Promarkers, the dp is an old Doodlebug paper I think, other papers are oddments from the 'scrap mountain' and small buttons from stash.

Thanks for looking.

Secret Crafter

this week have a sketch by Jane for this week's challenge

The image this time is a freebie from the Digistamp Boutique and the sentiment is from Creative Cottage The image is coloured with Promarkers and I have added Fun Flock to the froth (I've had it for about four years and this is the first ime I've used it...oops! Papers are from Paper Pizzaz from years ago too :)

Mojo Monday

It's a while since I've done one of their challenges but I have saved some of the sketches for future use.

Image as before from Karen's Doodles (she has some fabulous images and I will definitely be going back for more!), the Father's Day 'badge is a freebie from The Creative Cottage I've used Promarkers again, papers are a magazine freebie by Nancy Watt and the ribbon is from my stash.

Together

Strange title? I've done two challenges together and couldn't think of a title lol. I'm in the midst of making some Father's day cards for hubs to take to work so my next few posts will be 'bloke heavy' lol I'm also taking the time to join in some challenges with them.

For this card I have combined Dawn's sketch from Papertake Weekly, the very similar sketch from and the challenge for Stamp Something which is to use digis. I have mostly used digis for these cards as they are convenient and actually made two cards because I liked the sketch (and the colour combination on PTW).

The images are from Karen's Doodles and has been coloured with Promarkers, papers are from Stampin up, flowers are Prima and the charms and ribbon are from my stash.

Passion

For Promarkers have 'pink birthdays' as their theme for this week and it just so happened that yesterday was the birthday of a very special friend of mine and I made her a pink card. I bought a kit from Create and Craft a couple of months ago, this being the first I've ever bought and is probably be the last. The quality of the card is lovely, as are the colours but I just can't get my head round using a kit...I feel a bit of a fraud lol This is what was in the kit, note that there are no envelopes!!!

and this is what I did with it

My chocolate and strawberry cake image is from Sassy Cheryl and is coloured with Promarkers, the verse is one I've had for ages, the flowers are Prima, sentiment is from Craftwork Cards and the ribbon and gems are from my stash. I used a Martha Stewart punch to edge the 'support bar' at the bottom. Annette liked it and the little gift card with her prezzie :)

Thanks for looking, back soon.

Card sketch

It's time for another of Dawn's fab sketches on the Inspirational Card Sketch challenge blog again (these Tuesdays seem to come round really quickly)

I'm really not sure about this card, it's very busy.........maybe over use of patterned paper! The papers are freebies by Nancy Watt (she comes up with some really lovely papers!) from this month's Making Cards magazine available through craft shops in the UK, the image is one of my new Imaginisce Snag Em stamps from Crafts U Love and the 'Dad' is a rub on. I've left the sentiment off the card so it can be used for any occasion.

Thanks for looking :)

Happy Monday

morning everyone :) Mind you, looking out of my studio window it isn't very happy looking. It's very grey but the sun is trying to poke it's little head through all of the miserable cloud......at least it isn't cold!! There, in true British style, that's got the conversation about the weather out of the way lol.

I had a card order to make over the weekend and as usual, left it till the last minute. The brief was that it was for a 10 year old James Bond fan so after faffing around with this little lot for ages (I always seem to end up with piles of dud copie paper when I'm doing something like this :))

to this

Apparently, the lad in question went to a fancy dress party as JB and has liked him ever since, hence the tux and not the gun or the car on the front of the card!

It was also DD1 and SiL's first wedding anniversary yesterday (it doesn't seem a year since the wedding) so I came up with this mini album/card for them.

I bought the kit from Funky Hand a while ago and had it cut out on my desk for a good couple of weeks before finally making it up this weekend. I've left large enough spaces in it for them to add some of their own photos and just added a couple of poems, some E Line Primas from Creative Treasures. The heart on the front of the card is made using Sizzix dies....this one is one of their place cards (which were suspended from wine glasses) with the name plate and ribbon taken off. It was well received!

Have a wonderful day, whatever you are up to and I hope your sky is brighter than our. LOL.

It's another reveal day at Rosie D's. You have another week to complete our " FAIRYTALES challenge. A fairy, gnome, dragon,... we're looking forward to your creations!

I've got 2 lovely stamps for the winner!! 'Elmit' and 'Littlebell' from In2Stamps, a Belgian company! They have a lovely range of unique, beautiful stamps!"
 and here is my card
Image and sentiment are by Elzybells and coloured with Priomarkers, paper is from one of the recent Papermania pads, ribbon and ballet shoe button are from my stash and the other stuff used was a Martha Stewart punch and my Nesties.

Don't forget you still have a week left to play so we hope to see you soon.

Thank you teacher

The Passion For Promarkers' challenge this week is "books" which has been chosen by the new DT member, Andie.
The theme can beinterpreted by using an image that has a book on it, an image inspired by a book title, pages from a book as backing paper etc, just make sure you use your promarkers to be included in our prize draw.

As it's getting near to that time of year again, the end of the school year, I thought I would make a start on Thank you cards for the teachers!

Papers are K & Co, the image is from Some Odd Girl coloured with Promarkers, I don't know where the book pile is from (I found it on a memory stick!!), flowers are Prima e line and ribbon roses are part of my PE magazine prize. The beautiful frilled lace is from my stash and the sentiment was done on the lap top.

Thanks for looking. Will be back tomorrow with a couple more cards but not before I've been for a pedicure in the morning :))

Ruby album

I posted the cover of the album the other day and have finally finished the rest of it. My friend came to collect it this afternoon as it was for her son's girlriend to give to her parents at the weekend. My friend was pleased with it, as was Sally :)

Phew...that took some doing! I've used an assortment of materials which include papers from Pink Petticoat, Funky Hand and DCWV, Stampin Up large roller and ink and assorted goodies from the likes of K & Co, Nitwits, The Digistamp Boutique. Everything else is from my stash.

Thanks for looking.
