Passion for Promarkers

The laptop saga continues....I ordered one yesterday from Amazon and paid for the guaranteed next day delivery which meant it would have been here by one o'clock today....Wrong! It could now be here between tomorrow and 3rd May! I do, however have my hard drive as an external drive so at least I have all my work, accounts etc which is a huge relief. I appear to have lost my fonts though, which I've spent a fortune on! It's not the end of the world...I can start collecting again ;)

Today has also seen mum and dad moving into the bungalow so I have been dad sitting :) He would have been sat on his own all morning and got in the way all afternoon so yesterday he decided he was coming over here lol.

So onto the challenge on the PfP challenge blog. It's Michelle's turn to set the challenge and she gave us a lovely sketch to work with. I've made two cards to this sketch but the first one doesn't count as I had forgotten that the flowers had to be handmade lol

Card no 1 (for my mum and dad)
Pink Petticoat image coloured with Promarkers, paper is from an old Papermania pad, flowers are Prima and everything else is from my stash.

The real card lol
Another Pink Petticoat image coloured with Promarkers, papers from scrap stash but include K & Co and everything else is from my stash again.
Thanks for looking, have a good evening.

Good news, bad news

The bad news is that my poor lap top is no more, apparently I have a 'fried motherboard!' Should that be eaten with chips and salad? lol I now need to buy another new machine.

The good news is that the lovely man has managed to salvage my hard drive and is turning it into an external hard drive(!) The bit I really understood was that he has saved all my work, accounts etc so I am a sort of happy bunny. The other good news is that my dad has his stitches out tomorrow and on Thursday they move into the bungalow.

The other other good news is that it's time for another one of Dawn's fabby sketches on the Inpirational blog This week we have been sponsored by Some Odd Girl who is offering three free digis to the winner.

My image was coloured with Promarkers, the charm and brads are from my stash and the paper is a download but I can't tell you where it's from as the details are on my lap top!

Right, back to work for now, back soon and tfl :)

Rosie-Dee's reveal

Yes, it's that time again...to show the our challenge projects and to remind you that there is still time for you to enter our prize challenge.

Lyn's theme is St Georges Day or 'just red and white' and I chose the latter.

The sentiment is a rub on from DCWV stack that I've had for year (and keep losing then finding :)), the flower is made using a Stampin Up punch and a piece of card candy from Craftwork Cards the punched border is made with the new MS punch I bought in New York last month and everything else is from my stash.
Thanks for looking and I'm really looking forward to seeing what you create.

I'm hoping to have some news on my lap top tomorrow.....if they can't repair it but can just get all my work etc off it it will be a bonus. Fingers crossed.

Inspirational Card Sketches

I have major lap top problems at the moment, DH has just taken it to the Lap Top Hospital in the hope that they can do something with it that isn't going to cost as much as a new one! Even worse is that all my contacts, work, accounts, passwords, in fact just about the whole of my life is stored on that blooming machine and I can't access any of it. I'm using DH's pc at the moment and he has managed to access my email account through my business server but I can only view new emails, I can't go back and reply to any of the ones in my inbox and I can't access my address book. Consequently I can't send any emails unless it's using the reply facility :( If you have emailed me and I haven't replied then please email me again then I should be able to reply to you. My other bad news is that the parcel I sent to The Kids Co last week has been returned to me as the lady who it was addressed to is stuck in France because of the ash cloud!! As soon as I know that she is back on British soil I shall resend it. So I am sitting tight this morning waiting for my third pice of bad luck to happen then the good news can start pouring in :) I have had one bit of good news though.....My friend Andrea is winging her way back from New York as I type. They should have come back last Thursday but got slightly held up for some reason ;) So onto my card.....

This week the Design Team have been sponsored by Becca from Pixels To Print. Becca is offering the winner of this challenge 4 digi images of the winner choice.

Materials: image - Pixels to Print, paper - Brenda Pinnick, Page Frill - Doodlebug, MS Punch, Prima Flowers

Thanks for looking.

Wedding fayres

Just thought I would let you know that I am still around! We have finished decorating the bungalow apart from the odd touch up once the furniture is in. My brother is in the process of fitting a new kitchen so as there isn't anything for me to do I have the day (well most of it) off to catch up with some of my work. I'm going over this evening with DH.....he is putting the curtain rails and blinds up and I'm going to vacuum through and wash the floors ready for the carpets being fitted tomorrow. They're not moving in until next Thursday as Dad has his stitches and clips out on Wednesday and he wants to stay with the nurse who has dressed it etc.

So, in between all this I've done a couple of wedding fayre and made some DT cards and made a necklace and........not done any hw though lol.

This picture is of last week's table, I haven't taken this week's off the camera yet.
Thanks for looking, back soon.

The papers are from Pink Petticoat, the image is a card sticker from Doodlebug, sentiment is from a sticker sheet by MAMBI, ribbon and buttons from stash. Please take the time to join us and don't forget that there is a fabulous Basic Grey stamp set on offer fof the winner.

Happy Easter!

I hope you are all having a lovely Easter Sunday with your loved ones and I know that it is the true meaning of Easter but I hope there is lots of chocolate involved :))

I've just been and collected a load of cushions (haven't counted them yet) from a lovely lady from Freecycle in the hope that my friend Nicki in Switzerland can use them for her cushion projects for vulnerable children. I will photograph them later to add to my 'Wrap Up A Kiddie' page.
In the meantime, I made a card for DH to take to the wedding last night where he was working.

The lovely cutie image is available as a download from DewDrop Digiz Shop. I coloured the image with Promarkers, the backing paper is from Pink Petticoat and the ribbons etc are from my stash.
Thanks for looking.

Rosie Dee's

I know this is terribly late but Rosie sent me the instructions on how to schedule a post for last Sunday and I deleted the email by mistake and I have been so busy since we got back that it slipped my mind. However, I think I am now back on track :)

This week was the last of Brenda's challenges for a while (as Lyn takes over for April) and for this challenge she chose another Spring theme, but this time using the colour combo of Green, YellowWhite, which are perfect Spring colours. And so to my reveal
The image is from The Digistamp Boutique and is coloured with Promarkers, papers are magazine freebies and everything else is from my stash. You still have a couple of days to join in with this challenge before the new one goes live on Sunday.

ICS

Dawn's sketches (at the Inspirational Card Sketch blog) are brilliant to follow and are equally as good when turned or flipped for a completely different look. Here is my challenge card from Tuesday

Papers are from my scrap box, image is from DewDrop Digiz. She has been coloured with Promarkers and her wins are filled wth Glamour Dust, rub on, flower etc were all from my stash.

Don't forget to pop over and see the rest of the DT cards, they are lovely. We'd also love for you to join in with us and drop us a note so we can come and see your project :)

Update

We got back from New York on Tuesday evening and I have felt dreadful since. I have a lousy head cold and a hacking cough which seems to be my souvenir from The Big Apple (still I suppose it will last longer than the '10 for $10 Tshirts we saw all over lol) Seriously though we had a fab time and it was lovely not to have been in a rush this year as we were last March. DD2 managed to get her prom dress in Macy's and a pair of Ugg boots that she had had her eye on for a while so we had one rather happy teen which made for a happier holiday. DH bought me some new Crocs(!).....I now have five pairs of real ones and a pair of fakes (for gardening) and they are all different styles.

Edited for Rosie with the back view of the shoe :)

These are my 'wedding fayre' Crocs to wear with my suit! I have three to do in April so will be on my feet all day and need to be comfortable.

Now as per usual, I'm playing catch up. I am desperately trying to get through my 404 emails and 23 phone messages and I have loads of work leading up to us going away which I didn't have time to show. But right now it's bed time and I will be back in the morning with my (very late) DT cards from early this week. I managed to get them done and in before we went away but couldn't figure how to schedule a post..dur!!
TFL xx
